Xtsea is now back on the hard and having her port rudder and stock repaired after a bit of a mishap.
Seems some charterers may have had a bad time on Saturday. First time we have needed to call on our insurers.
Mini-keels seem to have done what they should have and protected the hull, but it looks like the charterers were doing a fair rate of knots as they must have dropped back down hard to make contact with the rudder.
The good thing is that the rudder did not pierce the hull. I know of an incident with 1160 Truest Passion (with XTsea’s previous owner Nannette on board) where that happened and they flooded the hull and caused significant damage.
