XTsea is a sailing catamaran 11.6m (38 foot) in length manufactured by Seawind in Woolongong in 2006. She has completed circumnavigations of the Australian mainland as well as Tasmania. If you would like to read a blog of her travels it is available HERE.
Comfortably equipped for bluewater cruising, she has three cabins and can sleep 8 thanks to a clever design feature where the saloon table lowers down to form a comfortable bed. The saloon and both larger cabins have 60cm LCD televisions with USB media facilities. Headroom is excellent throughout the boat.
XTsea has two bathrooms, with the main one boasting a full-size electric toilet and a comfortably-sized shower. The second bathroom serves as an en-suite to the second larger cabin but also has a toilet and a hand-held shower.
In good weather the saloon door folds up and lifts out of the way to provide a vast space for entertaining. A 110 litre ice chest sits off to the side but is still within easy reach. There is seating for at least 10 adults in the outer area and another eight in the saloon.
Outside, XTsea boasts a foredeck uncluttered by liferafts or emergency floatation devices, and it’s a great space to bask in the sun checking out the sights. There is a 3.2m inflatable tender with 15Hp engine for when a trip off the boat is required, and a clear-bottomed kayak, a stand-up paddleboard and a ‘Bullfrog’-sized Aqua Lilypad rounds out the toys.
XTsea is the Deluxe model with inboard diesel engines, so electrical power is available although it is limited. To keep the batteries of your devices topped up there are a few chargers for your use, or there are automotive sockets can use your own in.
